Exousia : Equipping for Dunamis Leadership

Rev Dr Brad Long.
Principal of the
Dunamis Institute

Rev Cindy Strickler.
Dean of Faculty for
the Dunamis Institute

Rev Paul Stokes.
Academic Dean for
the Dunamis Institute

The word 'exousia' is Greek for 'authority', and this intensive equipping event is for those entrusted with leadership authority: Dunamis Project track Directors and team members, Dunamis Institute apprentice teachers and faculty.

The course addresses leadership that is led by the Holy Spirit, roles within a Dunamis Project team, core content and teaching methods for the Dunamis Project, and rationales for how we lead Dunamis events.

Structure

Part 1 (online)

Involves watching a series of teaching videos, and participating in online group discussions using GoToMeeting. We will assume that you have watched these prior to attending the residential event.

Part 2 (residential)

Within the context of worship and intercessory prayer cover we have teaching, discussions and small group presentations, enabling deep processing, interaction and spiritual growth.

Topics to be addressed include:

  • The nature and rationale of the particular characteristics that make an 'authentic' Dunamis
  • Handling the distinctive challenges that are unique to each particular Dunamis Project topic
  • Delivering trial teaching presentations in small groups and receiving peer feedback
  • Implementing key features such as debriefings, sharing the vision, taking up the offering
  • Teaching and intercession
  • Knowing yourself as a leader/teacher, including ways of growth, regression and personal preparation
  • The dynamics of working with leadership teams, including styles, authority and discernment
  • The practice of teaching on, and praying for, the empowerment of the Holy Spirit
