Local events to help a congregation catch the Holy Spirit’s flame and grow in faithfulness to Jesus Christ.
These are condensed workshops, typically conducted on Saturday, drawing on teaching material from the Dunamis Project. They include worship, teaching, testimonies, practical application of the teaching, prayer and building community.
Ignite centres around the Spirit’s task of bringing glory to Jesus, making his presence and work an experiential reality in our world today. It examines the exciting balance between the inward and outward work of the Holy Spirit, providing a Biblical way of growing in both the fruit and the gifts of the Spirit.
An Ignite workshop will focus on one of three key areas, discerned in partnership with the leadership of the local congregation. These are:-
Looks at the story of God empowering his church and advancing his kingdom through the activity of the Holy Spirit, and explores how we can more fully participate in that story.
Exploring the dynamic process of cooperating with the Holy Spirit to do the work of Jesus Christ, learning to take part in the ‘dance of cooperation’.
Looking at how the Holy Spirit guides us into the kind of prayer we’ve been longing for: powerful, life-changing participation with our heavenly Father in bringing forth His Kingdom on earth.
At our leadership team meeting we all expressed such awe at the working of the Holy Spirit that we witnessed and experienced. Ignite will prove to be a significant Holy Spirit-initiated and led event in the history of New Life Celebration Church.
I’m coming to a fuller understanding that the Great Commission has more to do with spiritual depth than strategies and structures. It is beginning to resonate with me that the journey from conversion to transformation, from salvation to discipleship is fully dependent on the work of the Holy Spirit. I believe that it is nearly impossible to become Christ-like without saying ‘Come, Holy Spirit, come.’ – Tim Olsen
